Hope Strengthens Foundation is saddened to share the news that Chris Menne has passed away. Growing up in the same small community, many of us at HSF were privileged to have known Chris for many years. He was such a positive force and kind friend.
While under difficult circumstances, we were honored to reconnect with Chris and his wonderful family this past fall when we learned about his diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. HSF worked with Chris’ wife Sondra to identify targeted ways we could deliver assistance, so Chris could focus more of his time and energy on battling cancer.
Recently, Chris wasn’t feeling well and went to the hospital with a fever. An infection was found and resulted in a rapid regression and severe septic shock. Chris fought incredibly hard but his immune system was too compromised to allow for a recovery. He passed away on February 22nd.
Thanks to the generosity of many donors, we were able to help cover insurance, transportation, parking, and food expenses as Chris underwent treatment at Mass General Brigham in Boston. Moving forward, we will continue to offer assistance to his wife Sondra and children Ani (3.5), and Ori (2). Chris will forever inspire our efforts to help others and we will find an opportunity on the horizon to honor his memory.
