Hope Strengthens Foundation was recently introduced to Loren Mollon. His story commenced last year when he was diagnosed with a neurological disease called Charcot Marie Tooth. It causes peripheral nerve damage in his arms and legs. As a result of this diagnosis, Loren was unable to work.
While battling this debilitating disease, Loren was also diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the throat. He has subsequently undergone two throat surgeries and recently commenced chemotherapy treatment.
As we have seen too often, the combination of significant health issues and the inability to work, result in challenges to cover increasing costs associated with medical care. This scenario also places a significant strain on the entire family who balance efforts required to pay for increased medical expenses while bearing the emotional toll that results from caring for a loved one with an illness.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, Hope Strengthens Foundation has been privileged to cover some of the medical bills associated with Loren’s treatment and alleviate a portion of the financial strain associated with his care. These items include co-payments for doctor’s visits, MRIs, and throat examinations.
We will continue to monitor medical care and treatment efforts that Loren is receiving with the goal of paying for bills directly. This will help alleviate the additional financial strain the family is facing and allow Loren to concentrate all of his energy and effort on getting healthy.
